This position reports to the Senior Area Engineer. The position is focused on supporting the planning and implementation of capital projects throughout the local Area. In addition, the position is to provide sound technical expertise, advice and guidance to support District, BC Timber Sales and Branch Engineering staff on all aspects of managing the Ministry resource roads and bridge infrastructure across the Province. Work is performed across large geographic areas and may vary depending on the priorities and unique situations within each Area.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education, experience and professional designation requirement as outlined below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Forestry or Natural Resource Management or a technical diploma in a related field (i.e. forestry, forest engineering, survey geomatics, geoscience, construction) or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Registered, or eligible for immediate registration as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT).
*Immediately eligible means you are a current professional member in good standing with the professional association in another Canadian jurisdiction and can immediately transfer to BC.
- Experience in at least two of the following: natural resource management, resource road engineering, resource bridge engineering, natural resource operations and/or access management.
- Experience in contract management and/or project supervision.

Professional Designation: YES – Please include your registration number in your application. You must be registered (or immediately eligible for registration) as a Forest Technologist (RFT) with the Association of BC Forest Professionals. Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction. Applicants must confirm their eligibility with the ABCFP. Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be made.
